La Laguna Galapagos Hotel Location
La Laguna Galapagos Hotel is idealy located in Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island, the largest island in the Galapagos Archipelago. The beautiful Isabela has six large volcanic domes; one of these is the Sierra Negra Volcano, the most famous active volcano in the island.
Isabela Island is also home to a large majority of exotic species in the Galapagos Islands, such as flamingos, penguins, Galapagos giant tortoises, endemic Galapagos sharks, blue sharks, blue-footed boobies, sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas, and a wide variety of marine life.
Puerto Villamil is the name of the small town on Isabela Island where La Laguna Galapagos Hotel is located. The hotel is situated in front of the Flamingos Lagoon and separated from the pristine white sand beach by only two blocks.
Getting to the hotel
We suggest our guests to consider our transfer services, which will take care of all necessary arrangements to get you to the the hotel from Baltra Airport. However, if you prefer to arrange that for yourself and just book the lodging, please follow these instructions:
From Baltra Airport and Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) by speed boat.
Upon arrival to Baltra Island airport take a short ride by bus to the Itabaca Canal (5 USD), make sure you take the bus to the canal, NOT to the pier. Then cross the Itabaca Channel by ferry to Santa Cruz Island (1 USD).
Once on the Itabaca channel, take a bus or a taxi to Puerto Ayora on the way you can enjoy a great view of the Santa Cruz highlands, (Distance from Baltra to Puerto Ayora: 26 miles or 42 km).
Upon arrival to Puerto Ayora, walk to the dock and ask for speed boat tickets to Puerto Villamil, the speed boats to Puerto Villamil (Isabela Island) only depart from Santa Cruz Island and leave every day at 14:00 pm (USD 35,00 per person and per way, subject to change without notice).
From Baltra Airport by Plane.
Once you arrive at Baltra Airport and if you have a previous plane reservation, please go to the checking counter on the same terminal. You will take a small plane, 5 or 8 seat available per flight dor a 35 minutes ride.
It’s important that your arrival flight to Baltra Airporty and your departure flight form Baltra to Puerto Villamil are timed correctly.

From San Cristobal Island by Plane.
Once you arrive at San Cristobal Airport and if you have a previous plane reservation, please go to the checking counter on the same terminal. The plane services is provide for small planes, 5 or 8 seat available per flight and takes 45 minute.
From San Cristobal Island by speed boat.
Upon arrival to San Cristobal, go to the dock and ask for speed boat tickets to Puerto Ayora, the speed boats to Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) leave every day at 07:00 am. (USD 35,00 per person and per way, subject to change without notice). Once in Puerto Ayora walk to the dock and ask for speed boat tickets to Puerto Villamil, the speed boats to Puerto Villamil (Isabela Island) only depart from Santa Cruz Island and leave every day at 14:00 pm (USD 35,00 per person and per way, subject to change without notice).
